10+ Ways To Make Your Bedroom Feel Extra Cozy

Spread the love

Do you want to make your bedroom feel extra cozy? There are so many ways to do that. Even with simple spruces such as white bedding and a new throw blanket, you can make a huge difference. I’ve included my favorite ways to cozy up your bedroom, so let’s go through them together!

White Bedding

White bedding is a must-have if you’re going for that crisp bedroom look. There is something incredibly cozy about it. It is one of my personal favorites when it comes to making your bedroom feel cozier. Plus, you can always customize it with accessories. I like to layer different shades of cream for that neutral look. And whenever the holidays arrive, I just switch the throws with festive designs. It is as easy as that. Whenever they start getting yellow, I just soak them in baking soda. This helps keep that hotel-like crispness!

Natural textures

  • Wood: Add a wooden nightstand or headboard for warmth and texture.
  • Linen: Use linen curtains or throw pillows for a relaxed, cozy vibe.
  • Rattan: Incorporate a rattan chair or light fixture to add a natural touch.
  • Wicker: Place a wicker basket for storage or as a decorative piece.
  • Stone: Add stone candle holders or small décor accents for an earthy feel.
  • Wool: Layer a wool blanket or rug for softness and warmth.

Fluffy Rug

No one wants to walk barefoot on cold flooring first thing in the morning. That’s why you need a fluffy rug! This simple addition will definitely change your mood. As soon as you wake up, you will feel like stepping on a soft cloud.

String Lights

Adding string lights is an affordable way to cozy up your bedroom. This has made a huge difference in how my room feels like! I like to place them over the headboard for that subtle glow. Here are some ideas for you:

  • Drape over the headboard for a soft, glowing backdrop.
  • Hang above the bed in a canopy style for a dreamy look.
  • Wrap around a mirror to create a warm, reflective glow.
  • Place in glass jars or lanterns for a cozy bedside light.
  • Line the window frame to brighten up the space softly.
  • Weave through shelves to highlight décor and add warmth.
  • Create a wall display by hanging string lights in a pattern or shape.

Accent Wall

Does your bedroom feel dull? Interior designers have one trick up their sleeve: an accent wall. This feature makes your room look cozier and adds dimension.

  • Wood Paneling: Use reclaimed wood or shiplap for a rustic, warm feel.
  • Textured Wallpaper: Choose a subtle, textured wallpaper in neutral tones for depth and coziness.
  • Bold Paint Color: Go for a deep, calming color like navy, forest green, or charcoal to create a cozy atmosphere.
  • Brick or Stone Wall: Exposed brick or stone adds a natural, earthy charm to the room.
  • Gallery Wall: Arrange framed photos, artwork, or personal mementos to add warmth and personality.
  • Wood Slats: Vertical or horizontal wood slats create a sleek, cozy focal point with a natural feel.

Candles

Candles are another option. And I know that you might be worried about the fire hazard. This was the case with me too, and I decided to stick with LED candles. I was worried about whether they would bring the exact vibe in the room without looking too sterile. And the results were amazing! I got LED candles in warm light that flicker to mimic the natural feel. Simple, cheap, and you have a peace of mind.

Add Stools

Adding two stools or a bench at the end of the bed is one smart trick to elevate the look. Your bedroom will now have a hotel-like look! It is an affordable update that changes the whole mood.

Add Plants

Don’t mind dressing in your bedroom if you have a green thumb. A fiddle-leaf fig is my absolute favorite. The gorgeous foliage adds a tropical feel to your bedroom, and the greenery sets a calming and relaxing ambiance.

Wall Mural

Here is another solution for dull walls. Meet murals: a creative way to bring creativity and change the ambiance. A calm and serene natural habitat sets the perfect mood for a good night’s sleep.

Stylish Nightstands

A set of nightstands brings symmetry to your bedroom design and makes the space feel cozier. The elegant black nightstand with LED lighting elevates your style and enhances the space’s functionality.

Introduce Patterns

Simple and neutral patterns are an excellent choice, especially if you’re going for the aesthetic look! I really love how the wallpaper and rug have different patterns but still feel somehow connected. Trust me, this is the secret trick designers use to keep cohesiveness when mixing patterns. You can choose up to three patterns that share a common point. It can be a color scheme, motif, or style.

Pop of Color

A pop of color in a neutral bedroom brings freshness. The turquoise throws are a bold accent that elevates the style. Plus, I really love the fact that they are the same color but different textures. This little detail brings variety that does not look boring at all.

Theme

How about picking a theme? Making a bedroom feel cozier isn’t only about the auditions. It is all about setting a scene that relaxes your body and soul. This desert-themed bedroom is everything!

White Brick Accent Wall: Use white brick or brick-effect wallpaper for texture and warmth.

Natural Wood Headboard: Incorporate a wooden headboard for an earthy, grounded feel.

Large Nature Art Piece: Hang a framed landscape or nature photograph as a focal point above the bed.

Southwestern Bedding: Use patterned blankets and pillows with earthy tones and tribal prints.

Potted Plants: Add a variety of indoor plants for a fresh, natural vibe.

Rattan and Woven Accents: Include wicker or woven baskets for storage and decoration.

Cactus and Succulent Decor: Place cacti and succulents in stylish planters for a desert-inspired touch.

Antler Decor: Use antler or animal skull wall decor for a rustic, outdoorsy aesthetic.
